Since June 27, this first version of our overlay has been available to all users. Here is a brief guide on how to use it:

◦ Since this is becoming the general overlay suggestion feed, I'll add even more detail and hopefully refresh (or redefine) the importance of accessibility in VR.
- The term Overlay is probably being confused with the In-Game overlay from Steam or Discord where it overlays a UI on a Desktop game, where what I have been talking about is an overlay in a VR environment, two completely different things sharing the same name. Like Orange and Orange, one is a color, the other is a fruit.
VR is not as smooth and polished as the Keyboard and Mouse Desktop experience, it's even less polished than your average Controller experience. Why? Because the HID (Human Interface Device) is strapped to YOU and therefore every minor twitch, tremble, and bodily movement translates directly into the digital environment.
◦ What does this mean exactly?
- Even if you think you're moving smoothly and have complete control over yourself, you really don't. Best way to explain this is to record yourself in VR trying to do fine detail actions from as many POV's as you can manage, you'll see just how much you really move when you think you're dead still. OR you could set your sleep timer to the lowest setting and try STANDING completely still until your headset goes to sleep.
"We get it, everyone has ADHD in VR, what's the point Naf?"
My point is, we don't have "Hot-Keys" to quickly hit CTRL+SHIFT+M to mute our mic in VR, we can setup COORDS in the Controller Mapping of SteamVR (or whichever you use) but it's going to reach a point where I'm going to have to learn Krav Maga just to toggle my Mic and the dozen other things I want done with hotkeys when certain movements are triggered... no thanks.

Voicemod adding a VR friendly window for Soundboards and Voices would be a game changer, but it should also include the MUTE MIC button in the same size as the rest of the buttons. That said, it would be above and beyond if Programmable Buttons were added to serve as a one click hotkey from within VR.
◦ Programmable Hotkeys shaped just like the Soundboard Buttons.
- I have found only a couple of solutions like this. One looked promising but ended up not working at all when trying to add it to XSOverlay or OVR Toolkit, and the other required a server to run, and then connect to that server with a browser which added too much overhead usage and there was latency issues that caused it to click the button but nothing happen because "oops I forgot where that goes" or something... idk, it's a solution for a different problem.
I haven't updated to V3 yet because V2 has a mute mic button that I use so much in VRChat, that I'm glad it's not a physical button as I'm sure it would have worn out by now. V3 doesn't have a mute mic button, at least it didn't the two times I upgraded to V3 and quickly returned to V2. Yes, you can set a hotkey, but that's effectively useless in VR without a UI overlay button to click and activate.
◦ Basic: the easy solution
- A simple window without all the main window navigational features or per-soundboard details/settings and just a grid of buttons for sounds, functions, or programmed as hotkeys.
◦ Advanced: the hard option
- A SteamVR overlay to connect to Voicemod and simplify VR operation of Voicemod with clear easy to click buttons and dampened sliders so we can really dial in our settings without the organic/digital jitter to fight against.
I understand that Upgrading is not synonymous with Better, but with community feedback it should be. Removing features imho is a Downgrade.
Thank you for your time, and I absolutely love the product.

I play VRChat a lot, and use Voicemod for the soundboard buttons quite frequently. I was curious if there's an option to have a minimalist mode for the UI. Minimizing the Right Panel to be as small as the Left Panel would be great! Or even just having an overlay plugin for SteamVR would be awesome, could just add 5 to 10 buttons on a small wristwatch style element to add more integration.

coke, how does this apply to VR usage like XSOverlay or OVRToolkit integration with SteamVR? It's not quite nearly the VR Overlay I'm looking for, this may as well be Discord/Steam overlay.
I met the Official Voicemod VRChat Account during Furality, I'm sure they'll have an idea of what I'm talking about.

Ability to make the window smaller, and lock it
Ben Sovis
The smallest the voicemod V3 window gets is still WAY to big in my opinion as it covers over a third of my screen. I also constantly find my voicemod window randomly resets to center screen and increases in size (goes from covering about a third of my screen from the left corner to covering over half my screen at the center). There is no pattern or any trigger I can find that causes this. I hate that when I reset my pc it auto updated to v3 as I believe v2 was better in almost every way. Only reason I like v3 is because of the recorder feature.

I have merged your request with the overlay and added you to this request as a voter:

While I'm gaming or streaming I can use a hotkey to change it. I never use overlays, personally. I don't really swap voices over and over again either during a game. I think that would be more of a waste of time than actually playing the game lol.
