A very helpful improvement would be an indicator showing the microphone mute status, for example on the program icon in the active applications section of the taskbar.

In my case, I use a keybind to toggle mute on/off and it works correctly, but the only feedback I receive is the sound played when the keybind is pressed. An additional visual indicator showing the current mute status would help prevent situations where a user is accidentally talking “to themselves” without realizing the microphone is muted.
