Voicemod is always set as the default system device (even if the option is disabled) until you proactively choose another default input device

I’d really appreciate an advanced option in Voicemod that allows more control over how it interacts with default sound devices on startup.
Like the ability to prevent Voicemod from automatically overwriting the current system default device on boot, if I have a specific setup in mind like to use a lot of audio channels for no reason just to have many different separate audios
My current setup looks like this:
Microphone -> Voicemod -> VB-Audio (I want this to be default always)
Game audio -> VB-Cable A
Soundboard audio -> VB-Cable B
Discord audio -> VB-Cable C
I use virtual cables like VB-Cable A and B to isolate audio channels when I stream and stuff so I can separate the game audio, maybe a soundboard, my voice, and my friends voice better.

That option already exists, doesn't it?

coke Checked it out a bit, seems to not be fully working... it works when you for example close and open on the current windows boot, but however doesnt work when you restart your PC, it then overwrites it, seems to be a first boot thing

Lefvo You're right. I'll report it internally and move this request to Known Bugs. Thanks for the report.
As soon as it's fixed, I'll let you know here.

Lefvo I managed to reproduce it the first time, but I've tried to reproduce it several times since then and now I can't. Do you know how to reproduce it in all cases?

It seems that if I keep Voicemod open and select another default device, it stays selected even after restarting.
It only doesn't stay selected if I don't change it while Voicemod is open.

coke I am unsure how to make it consistent, it seems to sometimes works, sometimes not? Seems to be a rather odd bug, it reminds me of a intermittent fault. (I think it might have issues saving settings somewhere?)

Lefvo We are looking into it. Thank you!
